Although popular among celebrities, the Apple Watch still hasn’t turned out to be a runaway hit with regular consumers like the iPhone. Nevertheless, there’s been a great deal of interest around when the next version will be released, and now we have a clue.
A new report claims that the current version of the Apple Watch will be refreshed with new bands in March and get an entirely new case design in the fall.

The refreshed version of the Apple Watch in March, according to 9to5Mac, will include bands made of new materials as well as additional brand partnerships similar to the one Apple struck up with Hermès.
Additionally, the report claims that the March update will also include an official WatchOS 2.2 software update, an update that’s currently only available as a beta for developers.
The 2.2 update offers enhanced Apple Maps functionality (including the Nearby feature present in iOS 9)
The 2.2 update offers enhanced Apple Maps functionality (including the Nearby feature present in iOS 9) and the ability to pair several Apple Watch devices to a single iPhone.
The report also claims that the second generation of the Apple Watch casing, which many hope will be thinner than the current model, will debut in the latter half of this year.
No rumors have surfaced regarding what the new casing will look like, but with the increased smartwatch competition in the market, it’s likely that Apple Watch 2.0 will present a significant alternative design now that Apple has had more time to assess the market reaction to the first Apple Watch.
Along with the update to the Apple Watch, a new, smaller version of the iPhone is also expected to be revealed sometime in March.
